Get links to audio files

Once the files have been recorded and saved, this shortcut sends you a link to all the recordings you created on a given day. You can choose to send the email to yourself or someone else.

How to use

  1. Once you have finished making recordings, run this shortcut.
  2. The shortcut will ask if you want to send the email to your own saved email address or a different one from your contacts.
  3. The shortcut will ask you for the date of the files you're looking for.
  4. The shortcut will send an email to the address you specified with links to the recordings that were generated on that day (as long as they were generated using the other shortcut).

How it works

  1. When the shortcut runs, it asks for the email address to send the email to.
  2. Then it will ask for the date of the recordings.
  3. The shortcut will reference the file in your iCloud storage that stores the file names of the recordings generated using the other shortcut and pull out the ones created on the given date.
  4. It will use those file names to find the share links.
  5. Then it will create HTML links for each one.
  6. Finally it will email those links to the selected email address.

The shortcut has to work this way because of how iCloud file storage works. The share link can't be known until the file completes uploading, so the links can't be sent out instantaneously when the recordings are generated. And because the files take a really long time to search directly, we have to store them in a text file that takes less time to search.
